His technique is remarkable, yet it does not dominate his presentation. He has a musical sensitivity well beyond his years. The bassist, John Shiflett, is amazingly skillful and has a big beautiful sound and Jason Lewis is one of the hippest drummers in the Bay Area. I recently caught them live at Filoli and while I was totally grooving on what they do as a unit, Taylor felt that it was slightly out of the pocket.
