I would edit the recording down to a one-hour show and present it on KJAZ. I quickly learned that I should always be aware of where Jessica Williams was playing and to be sure I was on the scene with tape decks in hand. It's been a long haul for Jessica, but she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. "Live At Yoshi's" provides an excellent showcase for her genius. The trio includes musicians of equal stature: Ray Drummond on bass and Victor Lewis on drums. Great tunes, wonderful solos, but the essence is the interplay. Not only between the three of them, and they are a prime example of what a trio can be, but also the interplay between Jessica's left and right hands. This is jazz at it's best. -- Bob Parlocha
